Location: Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), The University of Tokyo
5-1-5 Kashiwa-no-ha, Kashiwa city, Chiba, 277-8583 JAPAN
Room: Lecture Hall

There are two airports to access the IPMU, Narita airport and Haneda airport. Please not be confused and choose a correct way. TX Kashiwa-no-ha campus station is a different station from Kashiwa station (JR). We recommend you to get off Kashiwa station, then from Kashiwa station you need to ride a bus. Though TX Kashiwa-no-ha campus station is nearer to the meeting place, there is no hotel around there and you still need a bus.

Please find a way to the airport to the station and then to the campus by bus.

Access from Narita Airport

  • By Train to Kashiwa station

There are two train stops close to the Kashiwa campus: 1) Kashiwa-no-ha campus st. on Tsukuba Express Line (TX) and 2) Kashiwa st. on JR Jyoban Line. However, when you come from Narita area, the easiest way is to use JR Kashiwa station. Two ways via JR Kashiwa station by train is shown below. To find the stations in airport, please see the page in Narita airport.

Option 1. (Recommended)

Keisei Line has a rapid train service, Skyliner Airport Express, between Nippori and Narita Airport. You can catch about two trains a hour to Nippori (time table) and frequent trains from Nippori to Kashiwa (More information). Please not confuse JR Narita Express, which is another train toward Tokyo from another station, but it does not stop at Nippori.

Option 2.

Take JR Line at Narita Airport st. for Narita st. At Narita, transfer to JR Narita line boud for Abiko. At Abiko, transfer to JR Jyoban line bound for Ueno and get off at Kashiwa. There is about one departure per hour and the train is slow.
