DESCRIPTION:This workshop was originally planned to be held in Moscow\, as
a satellite conference of the ICM 2022. Speakers were invited and prepara
tions were on schedule.\n\nUnfortunately due to the war in Ukraine\, it wa
s clear that the event cannot be held in Russia.\n\nA new organizing commi
ttee is formed from volunteers of speakers together with Markus Reineke an
d Vera Serganova in the original committee. The conference is now hosted b
y Kavli IPMU\, the University of Tokyo\, Japan. In particular\, there will
be no support from the Russian Goverment.\n \n\nDates: June 27 - July 2\
, 2022\n\nVenue: Online\n\nOverview:\n\nRepresentation theory plays a ver
y important role in modern mathematics due to a huge number of application
s in various fields of mathematics and mathematical physics\, such as inte
grable systems\, quantum field theory\, algebraic and convex geometry and
topology. The main idea of the representation theory is to study various a
lgebraic structures via their realization as symmetries of mathematical or
physical objects. One can also use the opposite direction to derive algeb
raic\, geometric and combinatorial properties of an object of interest via
its symmetries.\nThe geometric representation theory studies deep geometr
ic properties of varieties\, sheaves and moduli spaces via the algebraic a
nd combinatorial properties of algebraic groups\, Lie algebras\, quantum g
roups or quivers. A classical example is the Borel-Weil-Bott theorem givin
g a uniform description of representations of a simple Lie algebras via th
e line bundles on flag varieties.\n\nWe plan to bring together leading exp
erts working in various fields of modern geometric representation theory a
nd early career mathematicians and graduate students.\nThe topics we plan
to cover include geometry and topology of the Grassmannians and flag varie
ties\, representation theory of Kac-Moody Lie algebras\, quiver varieties\
, representations of quivers\, quantum groups\, modular representation the
ory\, applications in mathematical physics and combinatorics\n\nOriginal O
