Overview:
The primary goal of this workshop is the interpretation of LIGO/Virgo
detections of black hole and neutron star mergers available from
the ongoing LIGO/Virgo third observational run (O3). If results of O3
run are not yet available by January 2020, the main focus will be placed
on preparations to use the near future data to infer astrophysical
information from LIGO/Virgo detections. Our team of experts is uniquely
positioned to address and derive new astrophysical information from
LIGO/Virgo observations. We intend to discuss core-collapse and
pair-instability supernovae, NS/BH masses, angular momentum transport
in massive stars, NS/BH natal kicks, RLOF and CE phases of binary
evolution and cosmic star formation and chemical evolution. At the time
of the workshop, the Japanese KAGRA may actually be operational and
supporting LIGO/Virgo detections and we plan to invite local experts to
join us in the discussions.
