With the rising concerns of the coronavirus outbreak, Kavli IPMU made the following guideline. (As of Feb 13)

Our policy is in line with guidelines of Japanese government and the University of Tokyo in principle, and we restrict visitors to Kavli IPMU in the following manner.
* For the time being, we will ask all visitors from China or visitors who shortly stayed at any Chinese airport for flight transit to refrain from visiting Japan.
(Based on the government guideline, we cannot accept visitors from Hubei and Zhejiang. )
* If the visit is absolutely necessary, those from China or flying via China are requested stay at a hotel or an other proper place for two weeks, prior to their visit Kavli IPMU.
* In consideration of the health observation period of two weeks prior to IPMU visit, we advise people from China to use the means of TV conferences for their participation in seminars or conferences and to refrain from visiting Japan.
