The Gdfather is reborn (Mark's 60th birthday)

Join us in celebrating the remarkable career and 60th birthday of Professor Mark Vagins at this special three-day workshop. This event honors his 17 years of groundbreaking contributions to neutrino experiments in Japan and at IPMU, which have driven significant advancements in the field.

The new Super-Kamiokande, whose sensitivity has been enhanced by the addition of gadolinium, is currently improving its measurement accuracy in order to obtain conclusive evidence for the detection of supernova background neutrinos. It took the tireless efforts of Prof. Mark Vagins and his colleagues, who proposed the addition of gadolinium and made it a reality after 20 years. This workshop will look back on that path and look forward to the future.

Let's celebrate his 60th birthday and his rebirth, symbolizing many more years of scientific inspiration and discovery.
