Remote Meeting (Organized by Kavli IPMU, Kashiwa, Japan)
See 'Timetable' and 'Contribution List' to the left. Times are in Japan Standard Time (+9 UTC). A PDF version with multiple time zones is available here.
Going into the 2020s, cosmic large scale structure will be mapped with increasing detail by the next generation of observational facilities operating at various wavelengths (radio, optical, infra-red) and exploiting various techniques. Meanwhile, theory and simulations are increasing in sophistication in their ability to describe large-scale structure. These advances could potentially allow greater constraints into cosmological parameters and theories of galaxy evolution.
The goal of this meeting at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU) is to prepare for new and upcoming spectroscopic surveys such as DESI, Subaru PFS and MOONS, which will probe the cosmic web and large-scale structure at unprecedented target densities and redshifts, and to bring together a diverse group of researchers working on the cosmic web, its various tracers, and their embedded galaxies from both observational and theoretical perspectives. This will be an opportunity for researchers who may not usually encounter each other to interact.
Topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to:
This will be a primarily remote meeting with the time zones centered around Japan/Asia, with the live sessions running from 0:00-9:00 UTC. Presentation videos will be uploaded promptly to YouTube and a Slack channel used to allow asynchronous discussion.
There is no in-person component due to the ongoing pandemic in Japan.
